Therapists, counselors, teachers and nurses are often the first line of defense for a grieving child, yet the textbooks leave out the practical side of supporting bereaved youth, many times resulting from antiquated models. Learn what grieving children want the adults that support them to know - what the textbooks can't teach.
Course Objectives: Diagnosing grief using the DSM V; teaching parenting skills for grieving children to parents and guardians; Assessing children experiencing grief and loss for level of care; Identifying age appropriate interventions.
