About Me
When deciding which therapist you want to work with, it's important to make sure you choose someone who is trained in and has experience with the issues you need help with. You also want someone who understands your problem, cares about you, and values your time. I enjoy helping my clients live their preferred lives and I work toward therapeutic success by utilizing my skills, knowledge, and client-centered approach.
Education
I achieved my Master of Science in Marriage and Family Therapy from Nova Southeastern University. I also obtained a Graduate Certificate in Family Systems Health Care from Nova, which gave me the skills to help families with grief, loss, medical illnesses, and chronic conditions, collaborating with other medical professionals as needed.
Clinical Experience
I have been providing therapy to individuals, couples, and families for the past nine years in a variety of settings, including Nova's Brief Therapy Institute and Memorial Hospital. Working in private practice, I am able to combine my passion for therapy with my passion for business. I have helped many clients with issues ranging from substance/alcohol abuse to marital conflict to teen emotional issues. Click here to learn more about my services.
I am trained in Gottman Method Couples Therapy, a research-based model that teaches tools for having a happy, long-lasting relationship. I also utilize Emotionally Focused Therapy, based on research in attachment theory with proven results for couples and families. Other therapy models I use are Solution Focused Brief Therapy, Narrative Therapy, and Cognitive Behavior Therapy, depending on the presenting problem.
